The aged care industry is undergoing significant and far-reaching change with the move by government to more consumer-directed care and support for in-home services.  In addition, the amount of funding and opportunity in the sector sees an increasing number of privately owned and large publicly listed businesses driving competitiveness in the attraction of both residents and staff.

To respond to these industry challenges in the areas of workforce and care delivery, the client looked to how an investment in data, innovation and the Internet of Things (IoT) could provide a sustainable and differentiated outcome for its residents, staff and its community.

A four-week consulting project was undertaken to understand the options, trends and impact of data and mobile technologies on delivering the future of Aged Care (to 2020).  A number of future agreed projects / initiatives were identified, along with their expected costs and opportunities for sources of funding.  A data-driven project that yields significant profitability improvements, new revenue sources and lowered risks.
